Our state-of-the-art ocular laboratory operates 24/7 to recover, process and distribute donated ocular tissue for the most up-to-date surgical procedures:

  • full and partial thickness cornea procedures including DMEK
  • ocular reconstructive surgeries
  • medical research, education and training.

Qualified Technical Staff

Our Laboratory Staff is certified to:

  • evaluate donor tissue and screen medical/social history to meet regulatory requirements and standards for quality and safety
  • use the latest technology in slit lamp biomicroscopy, specular microscopy and OCT system
  • prepare donor corneas for endothelial keratoplasty procedures.

Medical Advisory Board

The Eye-Bank benefits from the advice and counsel of a 24-member Medical Advisory Board of physicians and surgeons who provide our staff with invaluable experience and knowledge of medical issues regarding corneal transplantation and eye disease.
