The Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration R. Townley Paton Fellowship is a $10,000 merit award for research in ophthalmology. In 1980, The Eye-Bank established the R. Townely Paton Fellowship to encourage basic science and clinical research to discover possible treatments and cures of blinding eye diseases. The Fellowship is being reestablished after several decades to continue to meet todays needs for innovative research.
The Fellowship is open to all ophthalmology disciplines located within the service area of The Eye-Bank.
Applicant Criteria
- The applicant must be a graduate from an accredited medical school, school of osteopathic medicine, or holder of ECFMG certificate.
- The fellowship must take place within The Eye-Bank’s service area of New York City, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley.
- A minimum of 20% of the fellowship must be spent conducting research.
- Deadline for submission is September 15th.
