2023 FALL BENEFIT
Salsa Night For Sight
The Eye-Bank’s Fall Benefit returned to the Bohemian Hall on Manhattan’s Upper East Side on Tuesday, October 17 to a packed crowd of surgeons, contributors, community members, foodies and music lovers. “Salsa Night for Sight” was a hit! Guests danced to an incredible set by Frankie Morales and The Mambo of the Times Orchestra followed by a fantastic performance by award-winning Yamulee salsa dancers of the New York Salsa Congress who dazzled guests with their near-acrobatic salsa moves. Everyone also enjoyed the delectable, Latin-inspired cuisine and cocktails provided by Chef Florian Hugo and his team.
Another highlight of the evening was the silent auction where guests bid on fabulous prizes, including a golf outing at historic Sleepy Hollow Country Club; tickets to Broadway shows like Melissa Etheridge’s My Window, Hamilton and Pal Joey. They also tried to outbid one another to win the “Gift of Sight” charm bracelet custom-designed for the event by Leadership Council member Ileana Quinones.
Most importantly we raised a record-breaking $110,000 to support The Eye-Bank’s sight-saving programs!
A sincere thank you to all who helped make “Salsa Night for Sight” a big success: Benefit Co-Chairs Ms. Jeanne McCooey and Dr. Michelle Rhee, the Fall Benefit Committee, event sponsors Dompé and Théa as well as The Eye-Bank staff who worked the event that evening.
