The Eye-Bank has many new volunteers thanks to the well-attended workshop hosted on March 22. Donor family members and cornea transplant recipients from the Greater New York area who participated in the interactive training session learned about the work of The Eye-Bank and its mission to restore sight as well as ways their volunteer efforts can help to increase awareness about the importance of signing up in the New York State Donate Life Registry. Attendees at the workshop also learned about the importance of sharing their personal eye donation story and toured the Ocular Laboratory.
Eye-Bank volunteers make a big contribution toward helping us reach out to the community by participating in tabling events, legislative efforts, and school education programs. The Eye-Bank encourages anyone interested in volunteering for The Eye-Bank to complete our online volunteer sign-up form.
