To all who knew him, Regis was a source of strength and courage, kindness and laughter, love and devotion. Even in his last days of battling with pancreatic cancer, he retained his dignity, verve and his love for all he was connected to. When Regis learned that he could not donate his organs as planned, he asked me to find opportunities to donate the organs that had not been impacted by the cancer. He had 20/20 vision and requested that his corneas be donated to The Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration. This generous act by Regis helped to restore sight to two individuals that were corneal blind.
While his physical presence has been missed, his memory, spirit and joy for life remain with us forever. And through his generous gift to the Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration, the spirit of Regis lives on in the sight of others.
