Eye-Bank’s Fall Benefit 2020

During the virtual benefit, our host for the evening, Emmy-Award winning travel expert and TV personality Samantha Brown from the hit show, Samantha Brown Travels, took us on a virtual tour of Austria’s magnificent cultural spots. Then distinguished sommelier Robin Pohlman broadcasted live from Austria and guided guests through a tasting of two delicious Austrian wines. The evening was topped off when Emmy-Award winning chef Erwin Schröttner taught us how to make delicious Jagerschnitzel, a traditional Austrian dish, and showed us how to pour a proper stein of beer. Prost!

At points during the benefit event guests had the opportunity to hear from three grateful individuals who have had their sight restored thanks to The Eye-Bank and WCBS-880’s popular radio host Pat Farnack, who emceed the evening also encouraged viewers to make a financial contribution to support our sight restoring mission right from their mobile devices.

All in all, it was a delightful evening as we celebrated 75 years of sight restoration and safely explored the delights of Austria.. without even having to pack a bag.
