Thomas Schueller - Recipient

My life’s plans for an exciting retirement were halted by a serious eye infection that left me blind in my left eye. It took two years and visits to three different specialists, but finally I learned the diagnosis and was told there was hope.

Although the infection was still spreading and causing scar tissue to cover my cornea, I learned a cornea transplant could restore my sight. I was amazed, relieved and so very grateful that someone had willingly said “yes” to eye donation.

My surgery was a complete success and I am finally able to enjoy life with my wife, children and grand children, unencumbered by poor eyesight. Thank you!
