Special Events at the Eye-Bank
Throughout the year, The Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration conducts special activities to help increase awareness about the need for eye donation as well as to help raise funds for the organization’s ongoing public and professional education programs.
Gift of Sight Night
The Eye-Bank teamed up with Major League Baseball for the first time this summer to promote eye donation and urge fans to enroll in New York State’s Donate Life Registry. “Gift of Sight Night at Shea” on July 24 was a big hit delivering the message to thousands in the stands during the Mets vs. Pirates game.
Sing for Sight
The second annual Sing for Sight night, held on November 30, 2007, was a big hit for The Eye-Bank, drawing more than 200 supporters to the Canal Room in lower Manhattan. Once again, the crowd enjoyed a terrific performance by Julie Weyne and Diane Pacenka singing popular songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s accompanied by the Guilford Band. This year’s Sing for Sight event raised more than $13,000 to benefit The Eye-Bank’s public and professional education programs.
Wine Tasting
Save the date of April 1, 2008 for The Eye-Bank’s annual Spring Benefit – A Wine Tasting and Auction. The popular event gathers more than 200 friends and supporters for a gala spring evening offering a wide variety of fine wines to taste and an array of premium wines and quality items for silent auction. This year’s Spring Benefit will be held at the Union League Club in Manhattan.
